These days, social media is buzzing about such a thing, seeing which some people are laughing and some are surprised. Famous luxury brand Prada has launched an item which is easily available in every home, safety pin. The only difference is that this Prada pin is not included in any market packet, but in the luxury product list and its price has been kept at Rs 68,700!

Safety pin worth Rs 69000 is trending on social media!

Actually, the brand has named it “Crochet Safety Pin brooch”, in which colorful threads are crocheted on a metal pin and a small logo of Prada is placed on it. Just this logo makes this pin a luxury accessory. According to the company, this is a “new style statement of fashion”, but internet users are not able to digest this. As soon as its price and pictures came online, social media and Instagram were flooded with funny reactions. One user wrote, “I can get this for Rs 5, just remove the Prada tag!” While another taunted, “My grandmother will make better than this, and that too for free!”

Why is it so expensive?

When we look at everyday items with luxury brand names, the price depends not only on the material or use of the item but also on the brand story, redeemability, rarity. People associated with it say that it is not just a pin, it is a fashion accessory, an artwork, a luxury icon. But the society is raising questions regarding this, “When a safety pin is available for five rupees, then why is this tag worth Rs 68,700?”
