CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) has taken a new and important decision for schools across the country. This decision is directly related to the health and lifestyle of the students. Actually, obesity is increasing rapidly in today’s children. The big reason for this is the lack of junk food, oil -rich food and physical activities. In view of this, now CBSE has instructed all schools to take some important steps.

What are the new instructions?

According to CBSE, now ‘oil board’ will be installed in every school. The aim of this board is to tell the children how much and what kind of oil they are using in their food. This will increase awareness in children about eating and they will learn to choose a better option. Apart from this, now all official documents of schools will also publish messages related to obesity and healthy lifestyle. The aim of this is that at every level, children and parents can be made aware of health.

Focus will also be on these things

CBSE has also said that instead of junk food in the school canteen, nutritious and balanced food should be given priority. Children should be encouraged for regular exercise, yoga, sports and other physical activities. Apart from this, students will also be motivated for using stairs instead of lift and walking for small tasks. This will make them physical active and will prevent danger like obesity.

How will the design of ‘Oil Board’ be?

Every school can design ‘Oil Board’ in its convenience and creative way. Its purpose should be informative and understandable for children, so that they can easily understand how to eat oil -rich food can be harmful.

Where will you get help?

If the school wants, they can get educational posters and information from FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) website or YouTube channel. For this, the school can contact eatright@fssai.gov.in. CBSE has appealed to all schools to take the health of students as seriously as they focus on studies. Only a healthy student can become a better citizen and this step in this direction is a commendable beginning.
