India is celebrating its 77th Republic Day on Monday (26 January 2026) with full enthusiasm and patriotism. On this historic occasion, US President Donald Trump, while wishing the people of India, mentioned the historical relations between the two countries. Donald Trump said, ‘On behalf of the people of the United States of America, I heartily congratulate the Government and people of India on your 77th Republic Day. As the world’s oldest and largest democracy, the United States and India share a historic relationship.
America, Russia, China congratulated India
Many countries including America, Russia, China congratulated India on the occasion of 77th Republic Day. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that America and India have a historic and strong bond, which has become more extensive and influential over time. He said that the partnership between the two countries is playing an important role not only at the bilateral level, but also in maintaining peace in the entire Indo-Pacific region and dealing with global challenges.
Best wishes to the people of India: Bhutan
Bhutan’s PM Tshering Tobgay issued a message wishing India a happy 77th Republic Day. And wrote, ‘I join the people of Bhutan in extending warm and heartfelt greetings to the Government and people of India on this happy Republic Day. The occasion honors the country’s rich journey and the spirit that continues to inspire generations, while also reflecting the shared values and deep ties between our two countries.’
Russia gave good wishes in different languages
The Russian Embassy extended greetings on the 77th Republic Day in different languages. The Russian Embassy said, ‘India is a place where old understandings and dreams of the future go hand in hand. India has shown the world that diversity is not a weakness but its greatest strength. The Republic of India is based on belief in the dignity of every human being.
India and China are good neighbors: Xi Jinping
Chinese President Xi Jinping also congratulated India on its 77th Republic Day. He described India and China as good neighbours, friends and partners. He said, ‘India-China relations are continuously improving and developing. Which is in line with the fundamental interests of both the countries and their people.
