Responding to the announcement of a trade agreement between India and America, Uddhav Thackeray faction MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said that the deal has been done on the orders of Donald Trump. America is directly benefiting from this deal. He has not made a trade deal with India but has given an order that this deal will be done accordingly. Piyush Goyal does not have the answer because he would be waiting for Donald Trump to wake up in the morning and post on social media what are the terms and conditions of that deal.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) MP said, “You have brought down the tariff from 50 per cent to 18 per cent but you have removed the entire tariff and non-tariff barrier for the US.” It has been brought to zero percent, that is, Donald Trump, who is dreaming of 500 billion dollars, is seeing it on the basis that he will face zero percent tariff and 18% tariff will be imposed on Indian products. What did Piyush Goyal say about the deal?
Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said on Tuesday (03 January) that India has agreed to a good trade deal with the US and there has been no compromise with the interests of the agriculture and dairy sectors. Without giving details of the agreement with America, Goyal said that the trade agreement is in the final phase and a joint statement of India and America will be issued soon clarifying its outline.
He targeted the Congress party and its allies, accusing them of trying to mislead the country regarding the agreement. Piyush Goyal also said that due to the personal relations between PM Modi and US President Donald Trump, India has got a good agreement with America. Through this deal, avenues will be opened for the poor, fishermen, farmers and youth of the country.
