Babar Azam’s bad form is not ready to leave him. The first test between Pakistan and South Africa is being played in Lahore, in which Babar was out after scoring only 23 runs. The Pakistan team lost 4 wickets in just 36 runs, due to which the South African team dominated the Lahore Test. Although Shan Masood and Imam ul Haq had put the Pakistan team in a very good position, the African bowlers made a comeback in the match by taking wickets in quick succession.
3 wickets fell without any runs being scored
At one time, Pakistan team had lost only one wicket on the score of 163. Shan Masood and Imam ul Haq had made a partnership of 161 runs for the second wicket. First captain Masood was out on the score of 76. Imam ul Haq and Babar Azam had added 36 runs, but when the team score was 199 runs, Babar Azam was out on the score of just 23 runs.
With the score of 163/1, Pakistan’s position had become 199/5. Saud Shakeel became the victim of a golden duck, while Imam Ulhaq was out after scoring 93 runs. The situation was such that Pakistan’s third, fourth and fifth wickets fell at the score of 199. Pakistan team lost 3 wickets without scoring any runs.
Test century did not come from 3rd
It has been almost 3 years since Babar Azam scored a century in a test match. His last century in Test cricket came against New Zealand in December 2022. After that, Babar has not been able to score any century in 27 innings. During this period he has scored only 3 half-centuries.
After the Test series against New Zealand in the year 2023, Babar Azam has not even touched the figure of 200 runs in any Test series. Before the start of the Test series against South Africa, Babar Azam had scored a total of 539 runs in 6 Test series.
