Israel Attack Iran: Israel recently launched a bold military campaign against Iran’s nuclear program, named Operation Rising Lion. The initial objective of this campaign was to weaken Iran’s ability to weaken the ability of nuclear weapons and prevent the potential threat from spreading globally.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeatedly warned that if Iran gets nuclear weapons, it could be disastrous not only for Israel but also Europe and America. In this context, Operation Rising Lion is being seen as a strategy for Israel’s existence defense.
Attack on Iran’s main nuclear sites
Israel has attacked Iran’s main nuclear sites. It includes Natanj, which is located in the Central Plateau of Iran. It is the most important uranium enhancement facility in the country. This feature has also been a center of international attention in the past, especially due to the Stuxnet virus and the Israeli cyber attack of 2021. But this time, the disadvantage was physical.
The satellite image issued towards Maxar Technologies shows that a large part of the site has been completely destroyed. The IAA agency of the United Nations also confirmed this, saying that the power supply of the site has caused widespread damage.
Satellite photos revealed
Iran’s Fordo Atomic feature, which remains under a mountain near the city of Qum, was considered more preserved, but here too satellite photos show minor damage. Iranian officials have publicly claimed that Fordo did not suffer much damage, but experts believe that its promotion process may have been adversely affected by the disruptions of the power supply.
Israeli attack on Isfahan
The third main site is the uranium conversion facility located in Isfahan. Here storage depots and pre -conversion process occurs. Till now it is not clear whether the uranium stored there was attacked there or not, but experts believe that if the attack was successful, Iran would have had a major impact on the amount of enrichable equities available.
International response and IAEA warning
IAEA chief Rafael Grosie confirmed the attacks, saying in a statement that the attack on any nuclear facility is “dangerous and serious consequences”. Although no radioactive leakage has been found at any site yet, its environmental and human results cannot be ruled out in future. Many international institutions and governments including the European Union, the United Nations and the United States have expressed deep concern over the incident. This development brings global nuclear security once again to the center of debate.
