What is the village defense guard?
Village Defense Guard (VDG), earlier known as village defense committees. This is actually a civil military, which was first established against extremism in remote mountainous villages for self -defense of local people in Jammu and Kashmir, especially minorities in Jammu and Kashmir, in the mid -1990s. VDG is specially trained to face terrorists who are regularly infiltrated from Pakistan. Demand for ex -servicemen in Jammu and Kashmir
Ex -servicemen in Jammu and Kashmir have now demanded from the government that they should be given 50 percent reservation in these villages defense Gods.
