Congress on Operation Sindoor Delegation: Congress Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh has made serious allegations against the Modi government, saying that Congress leaders have been deliberately sidelined in delegations being sent abroad on the national issue related to Pakistan. He said that it shows how the government does not back down from playing political sports even on issues of national interest.

Jairam Ramesh revealed that on the morning of May 16, the Modi government had sought the names of four MPs or leaders from the Congress to include them in the delegations to be sent to various countries. The Congress sent the list of four names in writing through the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha at 12 noon to the government, but when the list of delegations was released late on 17 May, only one name was included.

Cheap politics on serious national subjects: Jairam Ramesh

The Congress General Secretary said in its statement that it also highlights the trend of Modi government to make serious subjects a means for small political interests. However, he also clarified that the three Congress leaders who have been included in the delegation will discharge their duties and will fulfill their entire responsibility in the interest of the country.

The Congress has criticized this decision and said that this development is part of the strategy of repeatedly down the Congress by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP. Despite this, the Congress has wished the delegation that it will not fall to this level.

Jairam Ramesh repeated demands

Jairam Ramesh also reiterated that the initiative of the delegations should not distract the two major demands of the Congress. All -party meeting should be called under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister so that all the parties on Pakistan and Operation Sindoor can unanimously play their role. A special session should be called to repeat the proposal passed in Parliament on 22 February 1994. In this proposal, Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (POK) was described as an inseparable part of India and the commitment to reconcile it in India was reiterated. Jairam Ramesh said that when India has taken military action against Pakistan today, this proposal has become more relevant.
