After the crushing defeat and heavy losses found in Operation Sindoor, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has reached his four special Muslim countries with his cry. On Sunday (May 25, 2025), he started his tour with the Turki. After staying here for two days, he will also go to Iran, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan. Although Pakistan also beat the drums of friendship with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, but these two countries are not named among the countries on which Shahbaz has come out.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif met Turk’s President Rajab Tayyab Erdoan. During this meeting, the two leaders reviewed the entire dimension of bilateral relations and reiterated the resolve to increase the strategic partnership. Shahbaz Sharif arrived in Turki on a two -day visit on Sunday (May 25, 2025) as part of his four -friendly visit.
According to government broadcaster PTV News, Shahbaz Sharif and Erdoan held a delegation level meeting on Sunday. In his meeting with Erdoan, Shahbaz Sharif advocated to increase joint ventures and bilateral investment and underlined major areas such as renewable energy, information technology, defense production, infrastructure development and agriculture as possible areas of mutual interest.
The two leaders made extensive reviews of the entire dimension of bilateral relations and reiterated their resolve to increase the strategic partnership. Shahbaz Sharif wrote on the social media platform X, ‘We also reviewed our multi -faceted bilateral relations, especially the progress in business and investment. Confirmed his resolve to continue working together to further strengthen these unwavering bonds of brotherhood and cooperation.
Shahbaz Sharif also thanked Erdoan for supporting his country during a military confrontation with India this month. The tension between India and Pakistan increased after the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April.
India had carried out accurate attacks under Operation Sindoor on terrorist bases in Pakistan and its occupied Kashmir on the night of 6 and 7 May. After this, Pakistan tried unsuccessfully to attack Indian military bases and civilian areas on 8, 9 and 10 May. The Indian Army gave a strong reply to this action of Pakistan.
On May 10, it was agreed to stop military action after talks between the Director General of Military Operations of both sides. Shahbaz Sharif was accompanied by Foreign Minister Isaac Dar, Army Chief (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir and Information Minister Ataullah Tarar during the meeting with Erdoan.
