Operation Sindoor: Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri informed the Parliamentary Committee on the India-Pakistan military struggle after the Pahalgam terror attack on Monday (May 19 2025). According to sources, many members of the committee also asked questions about Donald Trump’s tweet whether the arbitration of Trump caused a ceasefire between India and Pakistan?
Trump did not jump in the middle by asking us- Vikram Misri
In response to this question, the government said, “This is not correct. It was a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan and a ceasefire has been decided in the same manner. Another country has no right to comment on the issues of Jammu and Kashmir.” Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that Trump did not jump in the middle after asking us, now what can we do if they suddenly come.
‘Consent at bilateral level’
US President Donald Trump claimed to have a role of his administration in stopping the conflict between the two countries. The Foreign Secretary reiterated the government’s attitude that it was agreed at bilateral level on stopping military action. However, Trump later clarified his statement. Trump said, “I am not doing that I got the mediation. I helped solve the problem.”
Under the chairmanship of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, Abhishek Banerjee of Trinamool Congress, Rajiv Shukla of Congress, Rajiv Shukla and Dipendra Hooda, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and BJP’s Aparajita Sarangi and Arun Govil participated in the meeting of Parliament’s Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs.
‘Terrorists roaming openly in Pak’
According to sources, the Parliamentary Committee was also informed about how India is restoring the priorities of its foreign policy amidst the changing security environment. The Foreign Secretary said that terrorists declared by the United Nations are roaming freely in Pakistan and continuously inciting violence against India.
