Kashmir Frontier IG Ashok Yadav has made a shocking revelation related to the country’s security on Monday (December 1, 2025). He said that this year there has been a significant reduction in infiltration attempts by Pakistan on the LOC and the international border, but the threat has increased manifold because Pakistan has again activated launch pads and terror camps across the border.
He said, “At present there are 69 launching pads active on the LoC, where around 100-120 terrorists are waiting to intrude and our Intelligence Unit (G-UNIT) is keeping a close watch on all the 69 active launching pads.”
IGP BSF Ashok Yadav, during a press conference at BSF Frontier Headquarters at Humhama in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, reiterated that anti-terror operations and Operation Sindoor are ongoing in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the Border Security Force has made significant improvements in the forward areas and new technology has been purchased to meet the operational requirements, but he also said that the focus of the BSF remains on effectively dealing with the challenges of infiltration.

The IGP said, “Terrorists are adopting new routes for infiltration because there are inputs from joint recce of Pakistani Army and Pakistani terrorists, but all our forces are firmly in control in the area.”
Giving information about the success achieved by BSF in the year 2025, the IGP said that BSF achieved a lot of success in anti-terror operations, but during Operation Sindoor, the Army showed professional manner. “We played a vital role in destroying enemy positions with our accurate fire and destroyed forward positions and launching pads across the border during Operation Sindoor, while in collaboration with the Army, we conducted 22 operations along the Line of Control (LOC) and in the hinterland, in which terrorists were neutralized and a large cache of arms and ammunition of different caliber was recovered,” he said.

He said that apart from Operation Sindoor, BSF along with the Army successfully captured the LoC, as a result of which eight terrorists were killed in 4 infiltration attempts in the year 2025.
The force has also conducted 22 joint ops with the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF along the LoC and in the interior areas, in which some terrorists were killed in North Kashmir and a large quantity of ammunition including AK-47 rifles, MP-5 rifles, pistols, hand grenades, UBGL, UBGL grenades, Chinese grenades, MGLs and ammunition of different calibers were recovered.
IGP Yadav warned
The IGP warned, “We have shared important intelligence about terrorist movements with the Army on several occasions and currently around 150 terrorists are trying to infiltrate.” He also said that after the Pahalgam attack, security was increased at Gulmarg Bowl and other sensitive places to foil any terrorist attempt to target tourists.
BSF is working on modernization of force- IGP Yadav
IGP BSF said that amidst the changing global tactics, BSF is partnering with large institutions to strengthen warfare technology and training officers in advanced warfighting techniques. He said, “In view of the changing war tactics around the world and threats on India’s borders, BSF is working on modernization of the force and infusing new technologies in partnership with premier defense research institutions, premier technology/engineering institutions, public and private sectors.”
Opened in BSF Academy in Gwalior bsf Drone Warfare School
BSF has recently opened the BSF Drone Warfare School at the BSF Academy in Gwalior, to improve the offensive and defensive unmanned aerial capabilities of the force. This school is training officers and troops in drone design, their weaponization, jamming systems, AI and modern warfare techniques under the Bhoomi (BHOOMI) Initiative.
He said, “The Bhoomi initiative is a very good step and our digital initiatives are focused on countering cyber threats. Also, there is the G-Branch of BSF, which provides the Army with necessary intelligence about terrorist movements and recovery of arms and ammunition, which has helped a lot in operations.”
Challenge of security forces to identify white collar terrorists- IGP Yadav
Yadav admitted that the enemy is making many attempts using drones and a lot of drone activity has been detected, but due to the commitment and professionalism of BSF, they are not able to cross the LoC in Kashmir. claiming that Delhi blast And after the busting of the white collar Jaish module, there has been a change in tactics in counter-terror operations. IGP BSF Yadav said that radicalization centers are being identified as they remain a serious challenge and identifying white collar terrorists is now a big challenge for all security forces.
