If you are 10th pass and looking for a government job, then there is good news for you. India Post has released the notification of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Recruitment 2026. Under this recruitment, thousands of youth across the country will get a chance to get a job in the post office. The special thing is that there will be no written examination or interview in this recruitment, selection will be done directly on the basis of class 10 merit. Candidates will get a chance to appear in the merit list only as per their class 10 marksheet marks. How many posts will be recruited?
A total of 28,740 posts will be filled under this recruitment drive. These include the posts of Branch Post Master, Assistant Branch Post Master and Gramin Dak Sevak. The number of these posts has been decided according to different states and postal divisions, so that recruitment can be done as per local needs. Candidates can apply according to their area.
Ability
For this recruitment, the candidate must have passed 10th from a recognized board. Apart from this, it is mandatory to have knowledge of the local language of the state or postal division for which the application is being made. This is necessary so that the daily work and communication in the postal department can be done properly.
age limit
The age of the candidate for this recruitment should be between 18 to 40 years. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be given age relaxation as per government rules.
How much salary will you get?
The candidate selected in this recruitment will get salary according to the post. For GDS and ABPM posts, the salary has been fixed at around Rs 10,000 to Rs 24,470 per month. Whereas for BPM posts, the salary will be around Rs 12,000 to Rs 29,380 per month.
application fee
For this recruitment, general, OBC and EWS category candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 100 for application, whereas for SC, ST, disabled and women candidates, application is free.
selection process
There will be no written examination or interview in this recruitment. Candidates will be selected directly on the basis of their class 10 merit. Candidates who have obtained more marks will be given preference.
