Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) national president Chirag Paswan said on Tuesday (September 30, 2025) that the basis of politics is not a caste, but Bihari identity. Paswan told reporters in Patna, ‘I will talk about 14 crore Biharis. I will talk about Bihar First and Bihari First. My party rises above caste equations and believes in politics that gives priority to women and youth.
He targeted the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Tejashwi Yadav and said that he constantly talks about caste equations. Paswan said, ‘Tejashwi Yadav may have EBC, OBC, Dalits and other castes in the mind of Tejashwi Yadav, but for us the people of Bihar are only Bihari. The leaders who wear the title of ‘M-Y’ (Muslim-Yadav) proudly, will always do caste-based politics.
Bihar’s strength in the hands of women and youth
Union Food Processing Minister Paswan said that his party also considers the ‘M-Y’ equation, but it means ‘women and youth’. He called it the new thinking and new identity of the party. He said, ‘The time has now come in the politics of Bihar that the strength of women and youth should be kept in the center because this class will give a new direction to the coming Bihar.’
He said, ‘The purpose of my politics is to include every citizen of Bihar in a respectful political process. Public problems, development and employment for youth will be the main points of my agenda. Chirag, leader of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ally in Bihar, also demanded an inquiry into the allegations leveled on the Bihar government minister on behalf of the Jan Suraj Party chief Prashant Kishore.
‘Opposition is doing vote bank politics’
Reacting to the release of the voter list by the Election Commission, he said that the report was expected to come. Paswan said, ‘Now it has to be seen how much politics does the opposition does on this. If there is an error or there is a good improvement, then its responsibility will be completely with the Election Commission. Taking a dig at the opposition, he said that this is only ‘vote bank politics’.
