Hard work to join Soni
Jackie Shroff’s wife Ayesha Shroff recently shared the entire sentence in an interview to YouTube channel Zero1 Hustle of online brokerage firm Jirodha. It was the era of 1994 when the Cable TV era was gradually beginning in India. During that time, Sony Entertainment Television also wanted to enter the Indian markets.
Jackie and his wife Ayesha Shroff joined a team of seven people to bring the channel to India, in which everyone had different skills. This was his first experience of becoming a part of the corporate world. Every member of the team worked hard for a year to join Soni. This deal was difficult because many big brands and businesses were engaged in wooing Soni, due to which Soni was hesitant to finalize the deal with him.
Ayesha’s trick brought color
Ayesha thought of an idea to finalize the deal with Sony. He suggested Jackie to have a great Bollywood party for Sony’s executive. The party, which was held at RG Club in Marine Drive, Mumbai, lasted till 6 am. Big stars associated with the film industry came to the party.
Ayesha told that the impact of the party was immediately seen. The next morning a call from a Sony official got a call from Los Agellis and the next day the deal was signed. Ayesha said that the investment of Rs 1 lakh in Sony 15 years ago has increased to more than Rs 100 crore today. Ayesha said that there was a condition in our contract that we will be seven people either or there would be no one. Since some people wanted to leave, we got out of this agreement after completing our agreement in 2005 after 15 years.
