AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has asked the government to clarify its stand regarding the US attack on the Iranian frigate (warship) Iris Dena returning from India. He has strongly criticized the attack and has also appealed to the government to hold a press conference to condemn the American action.
Asaduddin Owaisi has posted on social media platform The government should give answers, but the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister are silent. This is ignoring their constitutional responsibility towards the people of our country.
Asaduddin Owaisi demanded the government to clarify whether the Trump administration had informed them before targeting the Iranian ship. He wrote in the post, ‘Did the Trump administration inform the Indian government before deciding to use nuclear submarines so close to Indian waters and expanding the war zone? After all, we are also members of Quad and strategic partners of America.
Asaduddin Owaisi asked, ‘If this becomes an example for the Chinese Navy to operate in these waters, will the Modi government still remain silent?’ Owaisi wrote in another post, ‘If America repeats such action against two other Iranian ships present nearby, will the government still behave like an ostrich hiding its head in the sand.’
Asaduddin Owaisi further said, ‘This damages the reputation of India’s long-standing strategic sovereignty and could make us irrelevant on global forums.’ He demanded that the government should condemn this incident in clear words and hold a press conference to clarify its detailed stand on the attack on Iran by America.
America had sunk the Iranian frigate in a torpedo attack on Wednesday (March 4, 2026). It had come a few days ago to take part in exercises with India and was returning to Iran when it was attacked near Sri Lanka, in which the ship sank and more than 80 Iranian sailors were killed. Iranian officials claim that there were no weapons on the ship.
