The main reason for the employees’ fear is that on September 19, 2025, US President Donald Trump had signed an order imposing an application fee of $ 100,000 on companies applying for new H-1B visas. US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick explained the reason behind the new fees, calling the H-1B visa the most abused immigration program.

A user on social media agreed with his post, saying, “Unfortunately, this will not go away. It will gradually become common to question why we are hiring so many non-US citizens for all these high-paying jobs. People will step up and start putting pressure on companies to give citizens priority. Companies will be hesitant in the beginning and will later either outsource or give in to their demands.”
