Opposition scrutiny on pahalgam terror Attack: On Thursday (April 24), the central government called an all-party meeting in Delhi for the terror attack on Tuesday (April 22) in Bairsran Valley of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. This all -party meeting was called by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who was called a day after retaliation against Pakistan over the Pahalgam attack. In the meeting, leaders of all political parties were informed about this attack.
However, in this all -party meeting, the leaders of the opposition party asked sharp questions to the central government regarding the Pahalgam terror attack. During the meeting, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi formally questioned that 26 tourists lost their lives in this terrorist attack. In such a situation, why was there the absence of security forces in Bairsaran. Why were the soldiers not stationed there? On Rahul Gandhi’s question, many other leaders including Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh also reiterated this question.
Government answered on the question of absence of security forces
According to the NDTV report, the central government was answered on the question of the absence of security forces in the Besaran Valley. The central government said that the Besaran Valley is usually secured before the start of the Amarnath Yatra starting in June. Only then the official route is opened for the journey and security forces are also deployed to protect the pilgrims, which stop to rest on the way to the Amarnath cave.
Local tour operators did not give information about tourists’ visit to local administration
According to the central government, local tour operators allegedly started taking tourists to Bisaran Valley from April 20, which was long before the security forces were deployed to protect the Amarnath Yatra. In the all -party meeting, it was told by the representatives of the government that the local administration was not informed about the movement started before the tourists. For this reason, security forces were not deployed for the safety of tourists.
