Kashmir terror attack: Rais Ahmed Bhatt, president of Tourist Pony Stand, is being honored as ‘Hero of Pahalgam’ for saving the lives of five tourists. He helped the injured tourists who were unsafe, regardless of their lives at the attack in the Basaron Valley, who were insecure. Bhatt came out of his office alone to help tourists that if the attackers are still here and we too have been killed then there is nothing.

Speaking to ANI, Bhatt said, “We condemn the incident that happened here. We also staged a big protest yesterday. We do not want such incidents in Kashmir, because Kashmir is dependent on 99% tourism. When tourists come here, we live. We saved those who were scared at the time of the incident. We also rescued those who wandered horses. The entire population here is very upset. ”

Rais Ahmed Bhatt saved many tourists’ life

As soon as Bhatt came to know about an accident, he gathered with him 6 local working class Kashmiris and reached the place where tourists were attacked. He told, “When this incident happened, I was sitting in my office. At around 2:35 pm I received the message of the general secretary of our union. As soon as I saw the message, I called them, but the network had a problem, so the voice was not clear. So, I went alone. I went alone. On the way I got two or three people, and I asked them to walk with me. Overall, we became five or six people.”

Bhatt gave water to scared and scared tourists

He told that as soon as he reached close to the place of terrorist attack, people were running barefoot in the mud and screaming for help. Bhatt said that his focus was on bringing these people to a safe place. He helped in quenching their thirst by drinking water to scared and tired tourists. We broke a pipe from the water supply coming from the forest and gave them water, comforted them and said to them, ‘Now you are in a safe area. Don’t worry. ”

‘There has never been such an incident in Pahalgam in 35 years’

Bhatt also said that he persuaded more local pony riders to go to the violence affected site to help tourists, even though they were scared. He said, “Then we kept moving forward. Many horsemen were coming down due to fear. I persuaded 5-10 to come back with me. On reaching the spot, Bhatt was shocked to see a dead body and he said that such an incident had never happened in Pahalgam in 35 years of his life.

Women were trying to save their husbands

He told that there were bodies lying all around, a total of 26 people were killed. He said, “The first thing I saw was a corpse at the main gate, the entry gate from where the tourists enter. I am 35 years old, and never happened before in Pahalgam,” he further said, “then, when I went inside, I saw the dead body everywhere. There were only three or four women who were clinging to us, we were forcing my husbands to save my husbands. It was almost 3:20 o’clock. ”

Bhat said, “About 10 minutes later, SHO Riyaz Saheb arrived. He was in touch with us on the phone.” He said that Basaron grasslands are usually filled, but the movement of tourists was less due to landslides and road closure.

When asked about the presence of police or security personnel, Bhatt said that he reached the spot after 10 minutes. He said, “There is no motor vehicle to run a road. They had to run on foot.
