Pahalgam terror attack: Pakistan said on Wednesday (30 April 2025) amid growing tension with India that it had nothing to do with the Pahalgam terror attack and would react strongly if it is provoked. Addressing a press conference with Army spokesperson Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhary and Foreign Office spokesman Shafkat Ali Khan, External Affairs Minister Ishaq Dar demanded an independent and transparent inquiry from the neutral and transparent investigators of the Pahalgam attack.
A few hours before this press conference, Information Minister Ataullah Tarar warned of possible military action on behalf of India in 24-36 hours. Earlier, Defense Minister Khwaja Asif had said that despite the efforts of the international community to reduce tension, it is still increasing.
PM Modi has given open exemption to army
After the death of 26 people in a terrorist attack on 22 April in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, tension has increased between India and Pakistan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday told the top defense officials that armed forces have ‘complete freedom’ to take the way, target and time of India’s reaction to Pahalgam attack.
Ishaq Dar-‘We also express our condolences’
Dar read a written statement and said, ‘Pakistan condemns all forms of terrorism. One cannot justify the life of innocent people for any reason or purpose. Dar said, ‘We are worried about the loss of life and property during the Pahalgam attack. We also express our condolences.
‘Pakistan has nothing to do with this’
He said, “After the Pahalgam attack, India made allegations against Pakistan without any evidence and in such a dramatic manner. Pakistan has nothing to do with this and we have been saying this from the beginning. ” Dar accused India of making inflammatory statements for the last few days and said that Pakistan believes in restraint.
‘We are ready, don’t take our exam’
He said, “However, in case of any aggressive action, Pakistan is firm to protect its sovereignty and regional integrity.” Lieutenant General Chaudhary said, ‘We are ready, do not take our exam.’
