Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 11 runs in a very important match of Asia Cup Super-4 played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. With this victory, Pakistan has made it to the finals of the Asia Cup, where it will face India on 28 September.
Bangladesh batted very simple to chase a minor target of 136. Bangladesh could score 124 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Shamim Hussain was the top scorer after scoring 30 runs. Saif Halan 18, Nurul Hasan 16 was dismissed. Maheedi Hasan scored 11 runs.
The hero of Pakistan’s victory remained the left -handed sharp Shaheen Afridi. Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed bowled well for Bangladesh. He took 3 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs. Maheedi Hasan took 2 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs and Rishad Hussain took 2 wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs. Mustafizur Rahman took 1 wicket for 33 runs in 4 overs.
With the defeat, Bangladesh was eliminated from the final race of the Asia Cup. In the Super-4 match, Bangladesh won from Sri Lanka but after India she also had to face defeat from Pakistan.
