Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 5 wickets in a ‘do or die’ match. With this struggling victory, Pakistan has kept the Asia Cup final expectations (is Pakistan out of Asia Cup 2025). Sri Lanka scored 133 runs in the first play. In response, Pakistan achieved the target with 12 balls remaining. Hussain Talat and Mohammad Nawaz’s 58 -run partnership ensured the victory of the Pak team.

The Pakistan team, which came to chase the target of 134 runs, had a great start, as Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman together shared a 45 -run salute partnership.
Mahish Tishta got Farhan and Zaman out of Sri Lanka in the match in a span of 3 balls. Pakistan got a double shock when Sam Ayub and Salman Aga were dismissed by scoring 2 and 5 runs respectively. On seeing this, the Pak team had lost 4 wickets within 12 runs. Mohammad Haris stayed at the crease for a while, but his 13-run innings in a low-scoring match seemed as if he had scored 35-40 runs. Because these 13 runs came at very important time.
The rest of the work was done by Hussain Talat and Mohammad Nawaz together. His unbeaten partnership of 58 runs ensured the victory of the Pakistan team. Talat also contributed 32 and Nawaz also contributed 32 runs.
What will be the Indo-Pak final?
After defeating Sri Lanka, the Pakistan team has kept the hopes of going to the Asia Cup final alive. On the other hand, this was Sri Lanka’s second consecutive defeat in the Super-4 round, due to which the possibility of going to the finals is not equal. Due to this, the hope of the third clash between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 is still alive. This will be possible only when the Indian team reached the finals and at the same time Pakistan defeated Bangladesh in their next match and qualify for the final.
