Amid reports of boycott of the 2026 T20 World Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 15-member team for the tournament. Former captain Babar Azam has also got a place in the Pakistan team for the T20 World Cup. Babar was out of the T20 team for a long time, but considering his experience in the World Cup, the board has given him a place in the team. Questions were raised on Azam’s strike rate outside.
Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam also played the 2024 T20 World Cup, but after that he was criticized a lot, due to which he is being moved in and out of the team. In such a situation, Babar has once again returned to the team. Although Babar, who was out of the team, was playing the Big Bash League being played in Australia, where his strike-rate was very poor and Babar’s performance in BBL was also not special, but Pakistan Board ignored all these things and expressed confidence in him for the World Cup.
Star fast bowler is out
Pakistan’s fastest bowler Haris Rauf has not got a place in the T20 World Cup 2026 team. Although Pakistan is known only for its pace attack. Despite the absence of Rauf, the team has a pace attack like Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Faheem Ashraf, who can make the opposition batsmen sweat with their sharp bowling. But still the team may miss Rauf somewhere, because Rauf bowls continuously at a speed of more than 145, due to which the batsmen have to face problems.
