Pakistan Army Chief: The current situation in Pakistan is pointing to the dramatic change of political equations. Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif have sought help from former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is jailed amid growing tension and potential military response after the Pahalgam terror attack with India.

According to sources, four former military officers have been sent to Imran Khan so that he would persuade PTI to stop protests against Asim Munir and stop protests in Sindh. After the Pulwama attack in 2019, the then PM Imran Khan removed ISI Chief Asim Munir before the end of term. This was the first time in the history of ISI. Since then, the relationship between Asim Munir and Imran Khan had become very tense. It is believed that due to this enmity, Asim Munir had made a strategy to send Imran to jail. Now the same Asim Munir is forced to ask for help from Imran Khan.

Signs of change in political equation
After the Pahalgam attack, strict political and military signals from India have created a stir in Pakistan’s internal politics. In areas like Sindh, Karachi and Lahore, siren systems, bunker construction and red alert have created fear in the public. The Government of Pakistan fears that the rebellion can erupt within the country, especially they are afraid of PTI supporters and Sindh movements. Therefore, Asim Munir and Shahbaz Sharif have chosen Imran Khan the way to help, so that the ongoing opposition in the country can be pacified.

Pakistan’s fear to Pakistan
After the terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, India has taken strong action against Pakistan. The government canceled the Indus Water Treaty. Since then, Pakistani leaders are also constantly making rhetoric. They are afraid that India can attack them anytime.
