Pakistan on Pahalgam Terror Attack: Diplomatic tension between India and Pakistan has deepened after the life of 27 innocent citizens in a cruel attack on behalf of Pakistan-backed militants in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Former Pakistan Foreign Minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari made the situation more serious by making aggressive and inflammatory statements.
Addressing a public meeting, Bilawal Bhutto directly threatened India over the Indus Water Treaty. He said, “I would like to stand on the banks of the Indus River and tell India that the Indus will be ours and it will remain ours. Either our water will flow from this river or their blood will flow in it.” This statement is considered to be openly provoking violence against India, especially at a time when the Pahalgam attack has immersed the entire country in sorrow and anger.
India suspended Indus Water Agreement
India has started the process of reconsideration in 1960 regarding the Indus Waters Treaty of the World Bank. This treaty has been a historic agreement between India and Pakistan on water sharing, which maintained the tyre of Jyo even during two wars. But due to continuous terrorist activities and Pakistan’s non -cooperative role, India has now decided to postpone it.
Bilawal Bhutto attacked India
Pakistani leader Bhutto claimed that India had “attacked Sindhu”. He said that India’s population may be more than us, but the people of Pakistan are brave. We will fight on borders and also within Pakistan. Our voice will give a befitting reply to India. It is clear from this statement that the political leadership of Pakistan is giving air to aggressive nationalism rather than condemning terrorism, which seems to be further decreasing the possibilities of diplomatic dialogue.
India’s diplomatic strictness
After the attack in Pahalgam, India has taken many concrete steps. These include not only the cancellation of visas of Pakistani citizens and returning instructions, but also “steps towards stopping the Indus Water Treaty” have been added to it. India is reviewing this treaty with the World Bank afresh.
