Pakistan Cricket Board: Pakistan cricket team is battling badly on the field these days. Sometimes defeat to Bangladesh, sometimes in front of a lower ranked team like West Indies, this process continues. As a result, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is now preparing to strictly on the players. It is reported that the board is going to cut the thick salary of senior cricketers soon, which may give a shock of crores to star players like Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Why PCB is angry?
There has been a long discussion within the PCB that the heavy contracts being given to the players are not affecting the team’s performance. On the contrary, in the last two years, the graph of Pakistan cricket has gone down. This is the reason that the board is now planning to remove a large section from the contract of contracted players.
It is being told that from the Central Contract of PCB, players are given 3 percent of the ICC revenue, so that the players can earn more, but now it can now be closed by the Pakistan Board. If this happens, then the earnings of senior players will be directly affected and their salary can be reduced by crores of rupees.
How much will the players suffer?
According to the current central contract,
The player gets about 12 lakh rupees for the Test match.
6 lakh rupees are available for ODIs.
About 4 lakh rupees are given to play T20i.
Apart from this, A category cricketers get 6.57 lakh Pakistani rupees every month. This category currently includes only Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. In such a situation, if the ICC stake is removed, then both these players will suffer the most.
B category players get around 4.55 million rupees, C category gets 2.03 million rupees and D category gets 1.26 million rupees. The larger part of this comes from ICC revenue, which is 1.035 million. Now after removing it, the income of players of all categories will decrease.
PCB spending increased, not earning
Interestingly, PCB has increased the expenditure on players this time. The retainership budget has increased by 37% to Rs 1,173 million as compared to the previous year, but despite this there is no plan to increase the match fees of the players.
Pakistan’s performance continuously falling
The biggest reason for the players’ salary cut is their weak performance.
This year Pakistan has won only one of the three Tests.
Only 2 out of 11 ODIs have won.
In T20I, he won seven matches and lost seven.
Recently, the defeat to Bangladesh and West Indies has increased the displeasure of PCB.
