These days the turmoil in Pakistan’s politics has intensified. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman is now seen openly standing against the government of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. First he strongly opposed the government’s child marriage law and now he has also raised serious questions on the country’s foreign policy, security system and the role of the army.
According to the report of Tolo News, while speaking at a program, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that Pakistan has lost its old friends due to its wrong policies. Taking the names of China and Afghanistan, he said that the countries which Pakistan considered close to it, are today angry with it. He alleged that Pakistan’s Afghan policy has been a complete failure in the last 78 years.

Fazlur Rehman raised the question
Fazlur Rehman raised the question that when trade with Afghanistan is almost closed and even pomegranates or watermelons are not able to come to Pakistan from there, then how do terrorists come across the border. He also said that Afghanistan also shares its border with China and Iran, but why the problem of terrorism is visible only in Pakistan. He also targeted the Pakistani Army and said that due to different thinking within the army, the country’s foreign policy has become weak. Some talk about peace, some about war, but no consensus can be reached.
Maulana should speak on relations with China
Maulana Fazlur Rehman also criticized the government regarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He said that the current government has failed to bring back China’s confidence. New investments are not coming and projects are not progressing. He said that even during the time of Imran Khan’s government, the pace of this project was slow and even today the situation remains the same. He warned that if Pakistan continues to remain isolated in the world like this, the country will not be able to move forward. The public wants answers from the government. This is not the first time that Fazlur Rehman has attacked the Shahbaz government. Earlier, he had openly opposed the child marriage law in Parliament. Now they have cornered the government not only domestically but also on the foreign policy front.
