After the match, captain Suryakumar Yadav dedicated this victory to the Indian fans.
Pakistani lost due to their own mistake
After the match, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav said that this victory is for the Indian fans. He told how the Pakistan team lost due to its own mistake. Suryakumar said that Team India played the kind of cricket it wanted to play. He also said that the right decision would have been to bat first on the Colombo pitch, whereas Pakistani captain Salman Aga surprised everyone by choosing to bowl after winning the toss.
Salute to Ishaan’s thinking
Suryakumar Yadav praised Ishan Kishan and said, “I think Ishan Kishan came with a different thinking. After one wicket fell at 0, someone had to take the responsibility in the powerplay. Ishan fulfilled that responsibility very well. If I believe, we had gone far ahead in the powerplay.”
Abhishek Sharma was dismissed by Salman Agha in the very first over on the score of ‘zero’. When Shaheen Afridi came in the second over, Ishaan welcomed him with a six. From here he showed no signs of stopping and completed his half-century in 27 balls. He scored 77 runs in 40 balls. The rest of the team could only add 98 runs in 80 balls. In this way the Indian team had scored 175 runs in its innings. In reply, due to excellent bowling, he limited Pakistan to 114 runs.
