Shehbaz sharif on Pakistan economy: Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has once again cried out the weak economy of his country. Addressing the Pakistani army officials, he admitted that now close friends of Pakistan are also withdrawing from giving financial help to the country. His statement came to light during the encouragement of the soldiers after the recent military clashes with India.
Friends country expects business now, not begging: Shahbaz
Shahbaz Sharif said, “China is the oldest friend of Pakistan. Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar and UAE are our most trusted friends, but now these countries expect us to share them in areas like business, innovation, education, health and investment, do not just ask for help.” He also said that now these countries expect mutual gains from Pakistan and not unilaterally assistance.
I am the last person who will bear this burden: Pak PM
Referring to Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, Shahbaz Sharif said, “Me and Field Marshars Munir are the last people to bear this economic burden on the shoulder. Now this burden is on the shoulders of the whole nation.” From this statement, he indicated that now not only the government or army, but the whole country will have to take responsibility for economic reform.
Shahbaz Sharif is not the first time this confession
This is not the first time Shahbaz Sharif has accepted Pakistan’s economic plight. Even before this, he has said that he does not want to roam the world with a “bowl of begging” despite being Prime Minister. Pakistan has recently got financial assistance from the IMF (International Monetary Fund), but it is not considered sufficient to stabilize the serious economic situation of the country.
