Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari reached Chengdu, China on Friday (September 12, 2025). The Pakistani President is on a 10 -day visit to China. His visit is taking place soon after Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir’s visit to China.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lynn Gian said in a press release that President Asif Ali Zardari is on a visit to China from September 12 to September 21. During this time he will also attend the opening ceremony of China’s 2025 Golden Panda International Cultural Forum and will also visit Sichuan Province, Shanghai and Shinjiang Uygar Autonomous Region.

Zardari will meet China’s top leadership and officials

At the same time, Pakistan’s official news agency APP said in its report that he was welcomed by Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Sun Vedong when Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari reached Chengdu.

According to the report, during this visit, Zardari will hold meetings with Chinese leadership and senior officials to further strengthen Pakistan-China relations, increase cooperation in diverse fields and forward shared objectives under All Weather Strategic Co-operative Partnership.

Shahbaz Sharif and Asim Munir attended China’s military parade ceremony

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and military chief Asim Munir attended the Shanghai Cooperation Sangathan (SCO) summit held in Tianjin from 31 August to 1 September. He then met Chinese President Xi Jinping and discussed bilateral relations.

Subsequently, he also participated in the military parade of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA), which was held on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of China’s victory over Japan in World War II.
