Pakistan PM shahbaz sharif: The Government of Pakistan decided to make Army Chief General Asim Munir on Tuesday (May 2025) by promoting India and made a field martial. With this, he will become the second top military officer to be promoted to this post in the history of the country. According to the official statement, the decision to promote Munir was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
After General Ayub Khan, Munir is the first general to be promoted to the highest military post in Pakistan. General Khan was given the post of Field Marshal in 1959. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said, “The Government of Pakistan has approved the promotion of General Asim Munir (Nishan-e-Imtiaz Military) to the post of Field Marshal to ensure the security of the country and defeat the enemy on the basis of high strategy and courageous leadership.
