The demand for donkey meat is increasing in China and meat is being sent from Pakistan, but not only meat, a special drug made of donkey skin, gelatin-called E-Jiao, is also very popular in China. This gelatin is used in sugar drugs and is considered very valuable. According to the report, it is used in clinics for the effects of relieving the fatigue of ageno, improving the immune system, finishing tumors and removing anemia.

There has been a huge increase in the number of donkeys in Pakistan. The latest report of the Bureau of Statistics states that the number of donkeys has increased by 1,09,000 to more than 60.8 lakhs as compared to last year, which was about 59 lakhs earlier. This increase is the result of investment made by the Government of Pakistan in the production sector of donkeys, due to which the number of this animal is constantly increasing.
Big disclosure in the report
In February, it was told in the GEO News report that a big tassette has been started in Gwadar, which is especially made to send donkeys related goods to China. This includes donkey bones, meat and ‘e-ziao’. E-gi is a gelatin used in a medicine, which is made from donkey skin and sugar is used in traditional medicines.
Need for about 59 lakh donkeys skins
The Donkey Santuary, an organization, which works to take care of donkeys, said that the increasing demand for this business is increasing the pressure on the number of donkeys. It is estimated that to meet the needs of e-Ziao, there will be a need of about 59 lakh donkeys.
A Chinese report said that E-Ziao has a 3,000-year-old history in Shandong province of China. That is, this medicine is being used for thousands of years and even today its demand is very high.
