In the first T20 match, Pakistan has defeated Sri Lanka by 6 wickets. In this match played in Dambulla, the Sri Lankan team was bundled out for 128 runs while playing first. In reply, Pakistan won the match by 6 wickets with 20 balls remaining. Sahibzada Farhan played a half-century inning of 51 runs for the Pakistan team. In bowling, Abrar Ahmed and Salman Mirza took three wickets each for Pakistan. This is the first victory of Pakistan team in the year 2026.
The condition of the Sri Lankan team, which came to bat first, was so bad that it lost 4 wickets till the score was 38. Zenith Liyanage played an inning of 40 runs and somehow helped Sri Lanka reach the score beyond 100. Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed and Salman Mirza took three wickets each, while Mohammad Wasim and Shadab Khan took two wickets each.
Sahibzada Farhan and Sam Ayyub gave a good start to Pakistan. Even before the powerplay ended, Pakistan team had crossed 50. Ayub was out after scoring 24 runs. Whereas Farhan played an inning of 51 runs in 36 balls.
At one time Pakistan had scored 94 runs at the loss of one wicket. Meanwhile, the problems of the Pakistan team started increasing due to wickets falling at regular intervals. Pakistan had lost three wickets in just 12 runs. Shadab Khan made an important contribution to Pakistan’s victory by playing a short inning of 18 runs in 12 balls. Mahish Teekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Wanindu Hasaranga and Dhananjaya de Silva took one wicket each for Sri Lanka.
