India Pakistan tension: Pakistan said on Friday (April 02) that it has the right to call the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting at the appropriate time when tension with India increases with India after the Pahalgam terror attack.

Pakistan’s permanent Representative of Pakistan, Asim Iftikhar Ahmed at the United Nations, said at a press conference here, “We are seeing that all this is happening in the backdrop of the situation of Jammu and Kashmir.” Ahmed said this in response to a question, in which he was asked whether Pakistan is planning to call a meeting of India and Pakistan after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan is a temporary member of United Nations Security Council

Pakistan is currently a temporary member of the United Nations Security Council and will preside over the UN institution with 15 countries in July. Ahmed said, “It is clear here that it was an incident, but now the situation has arisen, it is a real threat to regional and international peace and security. And we believe that the Security Council really has this right and it would be completely valid to call a meeting of the Security Council, request a discussion and consider this serious situation for any member of the council including Pakistan. ,

Aseem Iftikhar Ahmed said, “We have discussed this with the members of the council. We have discussed this with the President of last month and the chairman of this month. We are keeping an eye on the situation very closely and we have the right to call a meeting when it looks appropriate. ”In Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, 26 people were killed by terrorists, resulting in tension between the two countries.
