There is still suspense over Pakistan cricket team’s participation in the T20 World Cup 2026. Meanwhile, Pakistan has surprised everyone by taking a big decision. Actually, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday canceled the launch event of Pakistan team’s World Cup jersey. Let us tell you that this jersey launch event was to be held just before the Pakistan vs Australia second T20 match.

It is being told that the jersey launch event was canceled due to lack of approval from the Foreign Office of the Government of Pakistan. It is expected that on coming Monday the Government of Pakistan may give its final decision regarding T20 World Cup 2026. Even PCB has not clarified anything yet. Pakistan’s squad has already been announced, the World Cup is to start from 7th February, but the final decision has not yet been taken on whether this team will play in the World Cup.

On the other hand, according to news agency PTI, Pakistan Cricket Board has completed the arrangements to send its team to Colombo on 2 February. The same report also claimed that Pakistan gave its full support to Bangladesh on security concerns, but it could not do anything further without damaging its position within the ICC. At the same time, Pakistan will hardly boycott the match against India to be held on 15th February.

Earlier, there was an agreement between ICC, PCB and BCCI that India vs Pakistan matches in ICC events will be played at neutral venues till 2027. For this reason, Pakistan’s matches in the T20 World Cup 2026 will be played in Sri Lanka.
