This great match was to take place on 15th February. The Pakistan government says that the team will not take the field in the match against India on 15 February 2026.

On Sunday, the Pakistan government announced that its team will participate in the 2026 T20 World Cup starting on February 7, but will not take the field in the match against India on February 15. Pakistan has taken this decision after Bangladesh was out of the tournament.

Shahbaz Sarkar has not yet clarified whether his team will play if Pakistan faces India in the semi-finals. Now the Government of Pakistan has announced to boycott the match to be held on 15th February. This was a league stage match, which was to be played in Sri Lanka.

Pakistan’s first match is on 7th February

The 2026 T20 World Cup will start with the match between Pakistan and Netherlands. However, a total of three matches will be played on the first day of the tournament. Pakistan team will face Netherlands in Colombo. It will be played between West Indies and Scotland in Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Apart from this, India will play its first match against USA in Mumbai. Pakistan’s match will start at 11 am according to Indian time. The West Indies match will start at 3 pm Indian time. Whereas India’s match will start at 7 pm.

Pakistan is in Group A with India

In the 2026 T20 World Cup, all 20 teams have been divided into four groups. Pakistan team is in Group A with India. Apart from these two, USA and Netherlands are also part of Group A. Now Pakistan will have to win against USA and Netherlands to reach Super 8. If they do this then they can reach the next stage of the tournament even without playing India.
