Pakistan won due to the strong performance of Babar-Afridi, defeated Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the final.


Pakistan has defeated Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the final of the tri-series. The Pakistani team first restricted Sri Lanka to a score of 114, after which the batsmen won the match by 6 wickets with 8 balls remaining. Babar Azam remained unbeaten after scoring 37 runs. Whereas Sam Ayyub played an inning of 36 runs. With this, Pakistan also avenged its defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka in the league match.

Afridi-Nawaz laid the foundation of victory

Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Nawaz laid the foundation of Pakistan’s victory in the final match. Both of them took three wickets each and bowled tightly and prevented Sri Lanka from making a big score. Afridi took 3 wickets for 18 runs in 3 overs, on the other hand Mohammad Nawaz dismissed three batsmen for 17 runs in 4 overs.

Kamil Mishara played an innings of 59 runs for Sri Lanka, but apart from him no other batsman could make a run. At one time, Sri Lanka had scored 84 runs at the loss of one wicket, but after that the Pakistani bowlers wreaked such havoc that within the next 30 runs, Sri Lanka dismissed all the remaining 9 batsmen. For Pakistan, Abrar Ahmed took two wickets, while Sam Ayyub and Salman Mirza took one wicket each.

Babar Azam showed his strength

The Sri Lankan team was all out on the score of 114. Pakistan team also lost wickets at regular intervals, but thanks to Sam Ayyub’s 36 runs and Babar Azam’s 37 runs, Pakistan won the title. Sahibzada Farhan also contributed 23 runs. Pawan Ratnayake took the most wickets for Sri Lanka. He dismissed 2 batsmen. Zimbabwe was also playing in this tri-series, but it could register only one win in the entire series.
