Indus waters treatey: Pakistan has been shocked since the postponement of Indus Waters Treaty of India. Recently, Pakistan People’s Party President Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had threatened India to shed blood, but now Pakistan’s attitude is changing. In this episode, Pakistani MP Syed Ali Zafar has now described it as a water bomb.
There was a debate in the Pakistani Parliament on Friday (May 23, 2025) over the postponement of the Indus Water Agreement. Senator Syed Ali Zafar said in his address that the issue of water is as important for Pakistan, as the issue of terrorism. This is also a war that has been imposed on us. The 21st century wars will be on water. This thing is proving right today.
‘If we do not solve this issue of water, then we can die hungry’
He said that Pakistan is a water stress country, which is the highest rank in the world in this matter. The country is moving rapidly towards water scarcity today. There are two reasons for this, the first is the clue change and the second is the population. Therefore, this panic is as important as it is.
Pakistani MP Zafar said that if we do not solve this issue of water, then we can die hungry. The reason for this is that Indus Basin which is our lifeline. Three quarters of water comes from outside. He further said that 9 out of 10 people are spending their lives with the help of Indus Water Basin. 90 percent of crops depend on this water.
‘The water bomb is lying on us, which we have to defuse’
Syed Ali Zafar said that all the dams all the dams in Pakistan are made on this water. So we understand that this water bomb is lying on us which we have to defuse. In Pakistan, water comes down from top of India. When Pakistan was formed, Hindustan decided one thing that Pakistan has to respond through water. Radcliffe formed a boundary in which the Ferozepur barrage was given to us. In the last minute, Radcliffe changed that line. He also kept the issue of Kashmir alive due to water.
