The India vs Pakistan match in the Hong Kong Six Tournament was played on 7 November, in which Team India won by 2 runs via DLS method. After the match, the Indian team did not come forward to shake hands with the Pakistani players.
When this rain-affected match ended, the players of both the teams did not come out. Players of both the teams stood at their respective places. After the Asia Cup, even in the Women’s World Cup, Indian players had maintained the policy of not shaking hands with Pakistani players.
The India vs Pakistan handshake controversy started in the Asia Cup. Before the India-Pak match on 14 September, Suryakumar Yadav and Salman Aga did not shake hands at the time of toss. Even after the match was over, Team India did not come out of the dressing room to shake hands with the Pakistani players.
When India defeated Pakistan in the final on 28 September, Team India refused to take the trophy from the hands of PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi. The Asia Cup trophy controversy is not over yet. The trophy is still with Naqvi.
India won by 2 runs
The Indian team played its first match with Pakistan on 7 November in the Hong Kong tournament. Thanks to Robin Uthappa’s stormy innings of 28 runs, Team India had scored 86 runs in the stipulated 6 overs. In reply, Pakistan team had scored 41 runs in 3 overs, then rain came. The rain did not stop, after which India was declared the winner by 2 runs via DLS method.
