For the first time since 1971, a Pakistani warship is going to visit Bangladesh, because after being defeated in Operation Sindoor, Pakistan is now plotting to encircle India through Bangladesh. After the Chief of Staff Committee of Pakistan, Pakistan Navy Chief Naved Ashraf is going to visit Bangladesh next week (8-11 November).
During the visit of Pakistani Navy Chief, it is believed that a warship of Pakistani Navy will also reach Bangladesh. If this happens, it will be the first visit of a Pakistani warship to Bangladesh since 1971.
Bangladesh interim government is strengthening relations with Pakistan
Due to defeat at the hands of India in the 1971 war, Pakistan was divided into two and Bangladesh was born. Since then there was tension between Pakistan and Bangladesh, but the interim government formed after the overthrow of the then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina last year (2024) is strengthening relations with Pakistan due to continuous anti-India activities.
Last month, Pakistan Army’s second-ranking top military commander (Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, also visited Bangladesh. Mirza had met Bangladesh’s interim government chief Mohammad Yunus and army chief Waqar uz Zaman. Now Pakistan Navy Chief Ashraf’s visit raises doubts.

Pakistan’s hovercraft deployed in Sir Creek area
The Pakistani Navy Chief had recently visited the disputed Sir Creek area adjacent to Gujarat. During this time, Ashraf had handed over three new hovercraft (special boats running on land and water) to the Pakistani Navy.
Only after Ashraf’s visit to Sir Creek, India has started the major tri-service exercise, Trishul (1-13 November). This exercise is being conducted especially in Sir Creek and Thar Desert of Rajasthan, in which along with the Army, Air Force and Navy, BSF (Border Security Force) and Coast Guard are also participating.
India keeps an eye on every action of neighboring countries
However, considering the proximity of Pakistan and Bangladesh, India has also geared up. Last week, Indian Navy Vice Chief Sanjay Vastyayan had clearly said that every action of Pakistan and Bangladesh is being closely monitored by the three armies of India (Army, Air Force and Navy) and all the intelligence agencies.
