Pakistan’s dream shattered, friend broke heart, not only Pak army but also the pauper was ruined by Turkey.

Pakistan has received a big blow from its special friend Turkey. Ankara has made it clear that it will not participate in any multilateral defense agreement with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. According to AFP reports, Turkish defense officials said that the Erdogan government is neither part of any defense agreement with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia nor is it considering it.

According to a top Turkish military source, despite Pakistan’s appeal, they are not interested in any multilateral mutual defense agreement with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The source said that Saudi Arabia is also not in favor of any multilateral system, it gives priority only to bilateral defense agreements.

Turkey has expressed concern about the Pakistani Army. Turkish security sources said that Pakistan is already active on 3 borders. These include India, Afghanistan and Iran. Apart from this, he is also facing challenges at the domestic level. The deal with Saudi Arabia has divided the Pakistani Army even more. Due to all this the capability of Pakistani Army has also been affected.

Pakistan’s forces are already under pressure – Turkey
A senior Turkish defense official said that Pakistani forces are already under great pressure and this reality limits their ability to fulfill their responsibilities under any mutual defense agreement. Most of Pakistan’s military equipment comes from China. Pointing towards this, Turkish officials said that Pakistan is largely dependent on China for military technology, especially in areas like air defense and air force. Due to this technical dependence of Pakistan, Ankara is cautious about joining any binding multilateral defense framework.

Apart from this, Turkiye also pointed towards the economic condition of Pakistan. He said that only a strong economy makes a strong army. According to sources, the armies of both countries do not have the capacity to invest in defense modernization at the level of Saudi Arabia, making a trilateral defense alliance not practical.

Pakistan is facing security challenges
Rejecting the possibility of a defense agreement, Turkie emphasized that Pakistan and its defense relations are strong. Ankara is already providing military equipment, air defense systems, drone technology and other equipment to Pakistan. This report quoting Turkish officials is in support of the statement of the Foreign Minister there, in which he had warned against looking towards others for security. He had said that unless regional parties take responsibility for their own security challenges, stability is not possible.

Efforts were being made by Pakistan to create an Islamic NATO in the Middle East. During the visit of Turkish Chief of General Staff Selçuk Bayraktaroglu to Pakistan on January 30, Islamabad propagated that a defense agreement was about to be announced. However, nothing like this happened.
