Preparations for Smriti Mandhana’s wedding were going on with full enthusiasm in Sangli on Monday, but suddenly the situation became such that the entire ceremony had to be stopped. At the wedding venue itself, Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered severe chest pain, after which he was immediately admitted to the ICU. Meanwhile, her fiance Palash Muchhal was also under the care of doctors due to viral infection, although he has now been discharged from the hospital.
According to media reports, the health of Smriti Mandhana’s fiance and musician Palash Muchhal also suddenly deteriorated. Due to viral infection and increased acidity, he was taken to a private hospital. However, after treatment he was discharged the same evening. Palash returned straight back to the hotel.
How is Mandhana’s father’s health?
Smriti Mandhana’s family doctor, Dr. Naman Shah, said that the medical team is constantly monitoring her father’s condition. He says that if Srinivas Mandhana’s health improves as expected, she can be discharged from the hospital today itself.
He told PTI, “At around 1.30, Srinivas Mandhana had chest pain on the left side. In medical terms, it is called ‘angina’. As soon as the symptoms appeared, her son called me. We sent an ambulance and shifted her to the hospital. The ECG and other tests revealed that cardiac enzymes were elevated, so it is necessary to keep her under observation for some more time.”
When will the wedding take place?
The new date of marriage has not been decided yet. No new announcement has been made and currently the ceremony has been postponed indefinitely.
