World famous WWE wrestler Dilip Singh Rana alias ‘The Great Khali’ has made sensational allegations of corruption worth crores of rupees and falsification of land documents on the Tehsildar posted in Paonta Sahib Revenue Department of Sirmaur district. During a press conference held in Shimla, Khali said that the officials are considering themselves above the Constitution and poor people are being made landless by transferring their lands in the name of influential people.

According to Khali, his father had purchased 16 bighas of land from a woman in Surajpur village of Paonta Sahib in the year 2013. Khali claims that he has all the valid documents of this land. The controversy started when Khali recently got a boundary wall installed on this land. The other party, Virendra Singh, asserted his rights on it, after which the Tehsildar ignored Khali’s documents and declared the land as someone else’s. Khali alleges that Tehsildar Rishabh Sharma has tried to grab this land by tampering with the documents to benefit property dealers.

Accusations of collusion against Tehsildar and SDM

In the press conference, Khali accused the Tehsildar as well as the local SDM of collusion. He claimed that not only him, but more than 100 people of the area are suffering from this ‘revenue syndicate’. Accusing the officials, Khali said, “Tehsildars are taking ‘ex-party’ (unilateral) decisions without informing the people and evicting the people who have been occupying the place for years.” Khali demanded an investigation into the Tehsildar’s property, saying that in a short time he had acquired illegal property worth crores.

Demand for intervention from Chief Minister

The Great Khali has sought an appointment with Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu regarding this entire matter. He has urged the government to conduct an impartial investigation into this corruption and take strict action against the culprits. On the other hand, the revenue officials say that they are only working as per the rules and the land in possession of Khali is different from the land with his original documents located near the drain.

At present, this high-profile case has created a stir in the political and administrative circles of Himachal.
