Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said in a program at Delhi University today that Parliament is the largest institution in the country and only elected MPs will decide what the constitution will be like. He said that no institution can be above Parliament. He also questioned the two decisions of the Supreme Court. He said, “Once the court said that the preface of the Constitution is not part of it (in terms of Golknath case), then said that the preface is part of the Constitution (in terms of Kesavanand Bharati case)”

Vice President Dhankhar also said that talks and open discussions are very important in democracy. If people who think and think are silent, then it can cause harm. He said, “People sitting in constitutional positions should always speak according to the constitution. We should be proud of our culture and Indianness. It is not right to harm unrest, violence and public property in the country. If needed, strict steps should be taken.”
