There was a stir today after Patna Civil Court once again received a bomb threat. As soon as the information was received, the court premises were completely evacuated as a precautionary measure. The security personnel deployed in the court closed all three gates of the civil court and the entry of any person was banned. An unknown person has threatened through mail. Threatened to blow up the entire building with bombs.
As soon as information about this incident was received, the police, bomb disposal squad and dog squad team of Pirbahore police station reached the spot. Intensive searches are being conducted in every nook and corner of the entire court premises. At present no suspicious object has been confirmed.
Patna Civil Court has received bomb threat for the third time in 4 days. Today on Thursday (February 12, 2026), the bail plea of Purnia MP Pappu Yadav is to be heard in two cases. Yesterday also a threat was received, hence Pappu Yadav’s appearance could not be held and the hearing was postponed.
It is noteworthy that his appearance was scheduled in the Civil Court on Wednesday also and the bail petitions in both these cases were to be heard. But on the same day, the court received a bomb threat through email, after which the court premises were evacuated as a precautionary measure and the hearing was adjourned.
His regular bail petitions are pending in a case of obstructing government work registered at Buddha Colony police station and a case of Kotwali police station in 2017. Due to non-hearing of these cases, despite getting bail in the old case, he was sent to Beur jail in Patna.
Now once again the incident of bomb threat to the court has increased the concern of the security agencies. Meanwhile, there is a situation of doubt regarding the proposed hearing today. The court and police administration have tightened security arrangements so that any untoward incident can be dealt with.
