The CBI team investigating the NEET student death case reached Jehanabad for the third time on Thursday (February 19, 2026). CBI had earlier called the maternal uncle of the student to Patna for questioning but when he did not arrive, the team itself went to his village and asked questions related to the incident. Uncle himself told on the camera of ABP News what the team asked him.
Mama told, “The CBI team said that now we are starting the case from zero. We were asked to tell what happened in Prabhat Memorial Hospital. They asked who had given the girl’s clothes? We told from which room the clothes were given on the 10th.”
On the question whether any female member of the family has also been interrogated? On this he said that the team has gone to Gayaji and interrogated the aunt of the student, who is his sister. He said that SIT people are saying it was suicide but CBI has not said anything on this yet. CBI is saying that the case has been given to us after a lot of delay.
‘When the cover-up was done, the case was given to CBI’
He said that when the SIT was being formed, we were demanding a CBI investigation, but it was not given at that time, when the cover-up happened, the case was given to the CBI. He said that someone is spreading the news that the maternal uncle was interrogated for six hours, someone is saying that the student’s brother was picked up by the CBI, all this is wrong. On the CBI investigation, he said that right now it cannot be said that a fair investigation is being conducted. Will say only after the culprit is caught.
Security increased at student’s house
On the other hand, the security of the deceased’s house has been increased. After receiving threats twice, four CCTV cameras have been installed at the house for security. Along with this, two police personnel have also been deployed. For now, it remains to be seen what comes next in this case. The mobile phone of the student’s brother has already been confiscated by the CBI.
