The student union elections of Patna University in Bihar have been postponed with immediate effect. Voting for the elections was to be held on February 28, but now the elections have been suspended till further orders. A press release has been issued by Patna University regarding this.
It has been said in the release that in the last few days, unprecedented and unexpected incidents have taken place in the university campus. For example, a group of students entered the Patna Women’s College campus without permission and raised slogans. In such a situation, it was considered a violation of the election code of conduct.
Students misbehaved with teachers and officials
Apart from this, students entered a class in Patna Science College and behaved indecently with teachers and officials of Patna University. In view of all these incidents, the student union elections have been postponed till further orders.
Premature promotion
The election code of conduct was violated in such a way that printed banners and posters were used in the college premises. Expensive four-wheelers were used and the election campaign was started even before the scheduled time period. Angered by this, Patna University has postponed the student union elections.
