What Is Patola Lehenga And Why Is It Special: As soon as the name of Ambani family comes, a picture of grandeur and royal style comes to the fore. Although the main members of the family are often in the headlines, but in the recent wedding ceremonies, another name especially in discussion was that of Deepti Salgaonkar’s daughter-in-law Shaviana. With her pre-wedding look, she beautifully showcased not only fashion but also 900 years of traditional heritage. Moving away from the heavy embroidery and glittery bridal trend, Shaviana made age-old handicrafts like Patola a part of her look which caught everyone’s attention.
For the pre-wedding function, Shaviana along with her sisters decided to wear Patola lehenga. This was not just a fashion choice, but a tribute to the Indian textile tradition. A very beautiful combination of traditional craft and modern style was seen in the looks of the sisters.

specialty of patola
Patola is not just a cloth, but an art of weaving that is about 700 to 900 years old, which is believed to have originated from the city of Patan in Gujarat. It uses the “Double Ikat” technique, in which the threads are dyed before they are put on the loom. This is the reason why it may take several months to a year to prepare this cloth. In ancient times, Patola sarees and clothes were made only for royal families and rich businessmen, its most special thing is that the same design is visible on both sides of the cloth, which has a beautiful combination of geometric patterns and bright colors.

Shaviana’s look
Shaviana chose a deep red patola lehenga with traditional geometric patterns and floral designs, the natural shine of the silk fabric made the look more regal. The small elephant motifs on the border of the lehenga gave it a royal look. She paired it with a half sleeve blouse and draped the dupatta like the pallu of a saree, which gives a classic touch to the entire look.
