Now it will not be necessary to enter PIN every time while making UPI payment.
The company has started the facility of biometric authentication. With which users will be able to make payment through fingerprint or face unlock. This feature has been introduced to make the payment process easier, faster and less hassle-free. Payment up to Rs 5000 without PIN
If you use UPI a lot for small purchases. Then this news is very important for you. Now UPI transactions up to Rs 5000 can be done without entering PIN. In low value transactions, the native security system of the smartphone will be used as the second authentication factor. This means that for everyday payments like ration, food, medicine or small shopping, only fingerprint or face recognition will be enough.

However, UPI PIN will still be required for big transactions. There should be no compromise with pfms security. The company says that this feature will reduce interruptions in payment flow and will help users complete transactions faster. At present this facility is available only for Android smartphone users. In the coming time, it will be launched for iPhone users also.
How to use this feature?
Activating this feature is easy. First of all, open the PhonePe app and go to your profile section. There you will find the option of Manage Payments. After this tap on the biometric payment icon. Turn on biometric authentication in UPI payments for your bank account.
During first-time setup, you will have to confirm your UPI with both PIN and biometrics. Once the process is completed, there will be no need to enter PIN for transactions up to Rs 5000. The phone’s inbuilt fingerprint or face unlock system will act as a second layer of security.
