UP Senior Citizens Pension Rule: Uttar Pradesh government runs many schemes for the people of the state. Some of these schemes are also especially for the elderly. Recently, the Uttar Pradesh government has taken a big decision for the elderly of the state. Now they will start getting pension as soon as they complete 60 years of age. For this, the elderly will not have the hassle of applying separately. This facility will be provided under One Family-One Identity i.e. Family ID system.
Due to which there will be automatic identification of eligible citizens and after getting consent, the pension will be transferred directly to their bank account. At present 67.50 lakh elderly people in the state are taking benefit of this scheme. But there are a large number of people who remain out of pension due to not being able to complete the process. With the introduction of the new system, many more elderly people will benefit from it.
You will start getting pension as soon as you turn 60 years old
According to the decision of Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, now the pension of eligible elderly people will start automatically as soon as they complete 60 years of age. The Social Welfare Department will identify eligible beneficiaries using the Family ID system and take their consent through digital medium like SMS, WhatsApp or call. If consent is not obtained through digital means. So the department employees themselves will go and contact them and their consent will be taken. This process will eliminate the hassle of application and the pension will reach every elderly person on time.

This process will make work easier
With the new system it will now become easier for the elderly to get pension. After automatic marking and consent, the planning officer will issue the approval with digital signature within 15 days. Which will reach the beneficiary through post. After which the pension will be sent directly to the bank account of the beneficiaries and information about every transaction will be received through message.

Apart from this, all payment details can be seen in the mobile app like passbook. Door-to-door support will also be available from Gram Panchayat Assistant or Common Service Center. With this decision of the government, it will become much easier for many elderly people to get pension.
