In this report released on 6 January 2025, it has been told that Delhi is number 1 in India in terms of speaking English. According to the report, the score of English speaking of the people of Delhi is 63, which is far better than the global average (54). People of Delhi speak the best English in India. After Delhi, Rajasthan is in second place, where the score is 60. Punjab comes in third place, whose score is 58. Now this is a slightly shocking figure, because Delhi is usually considered as educational and urban centers, but states like Rajasthan and Punjab come to the top, it tells that serious efforts are being made for English education in these states.
What is this report?
Piercene, an international education company, analyzed about 7.5 lakh English language tests called Versant Tests. These tests were given by people from different countries, and it was known from them how much their ability to speak, write, understand and listen. In which we look at the figures of India, the average score of English speaking 57 which is better than the global average 54. At the same time, the total average score of English skills is 52 which is slightly less than the global average 57 and the average score of English writing is 61.
In which sector is English best spoken?
1. Finance and Banking – In this sector, people’s English speaking score is 63, which is much better than the average (56) of the world. This means that people working in this field usually speak good English.
2. IT, BPO and Consulting – In these areas also, English has been found very good. These people use English well.
3. Healthcare – The score in this area is only 45, which is less than the rest of the areas. This means that English level in healthcare is slightly behind.
